The location of this place was mind-blowing, with wonderful views and walks 'on tap'. The bed was super comfortable and the facilities, including the dishwasher, washing machine, and off-site car park, were top-notch. The gorgeous baskets of generous gifts left for us were a jaw-dropping gesture. We also loved that wi-fi was available and that pets were allowed. The nearby cycling, fishing, and golf course added to the fun. One thing to note is that check-in time should be more flexible. an amazing stay and we would definitely return!

We had a wonderful stay at Gilson in Ambleside. The location was fabulous, offering stunning views and easy access to beautiful walks. The villa itself was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with amenities like a dishwasher, washing machine, and parking space. The thoughtful gesture of generous gift baskets made us feel truly welcome. Despite a few minor issues like the check-in time and water pressure in the shower, our overall experience was fantastic. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

The location of this accommodation was fantastic, with stunning views and easy access to walking trails. The spacious and comfortable layout of the home made for a pleasant stay. Amenities such as a dishwasher and washing machine were convenient additions.
The 4pm check-in time was less than ideal, as a significant portion of the day had already passed. Additionally, the water pressure in the shower was quite weak.

We had a fantastic time exploring the beautiful Lake District while staying at Gilson in Ambleside. As a family, we enjoyed golfing at the nearby course, cycling along the scenic trails, and fishing in the picturesque lakes. The location provided us with ample opportunities to indulge in these activities, making our stay truly memorable.
In my wife's opinion, it would have been great if there were some organized activities or a play area for children at Gilson.

Clean and well-designed layout with all necessary amenities. Spacious and comfortable accommodation for two people.
A bit far from town, but not a problem if you have transportation. Slight dog smell in the hallway, can be easily minimized with air freshener.

Enjoyed engaging in activities such as golfing, fishing, and cycling in the area. Free WiFi in this 5-star property with a convenient location near Lake District and Lake Windermere. Spacious and comfy cottage equipped with all amenities.
The check-in time and rude cleaner were just delightful. The weak water pressure in the shower added to the charm.

I recently stayed at a hotel in Ambleside for a couple of days and it was a truly enjoyable experience. The hotel provided a clean and well-designed layout with all the necessary amenities such as a dishwasher, washing machine, and parking space. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, making it the perfect home away from home for two people. Additionally, the location was fabulous, offering wonderful views and easy access to scenic walks. The hotel also surprised us with generous gift baskets, which was a beautiful gesture. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return if the check-in time changes.
Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

I absolutely loved the cozy and charming atmosphere of Gilson in Ambleside. The decoration was lovely, with little touches that made me feel right at home. The general areas of the hotel were immaculate, and I felt comfortable moving around, even with my limited mobility as a senior. It was also great that the hotel had easy access for senior people, with no stairs to climb and spacious rooms.
The only thing I would have asked for a better vacation for senior people is a slightly earlier check-in time. The 4pm check-in was a bit late for me, especially during the winter when it gets dark early.

Free WiFi, great for golfing, fishing, and cycling. Lovely lake views and generous gifts. The only downside was that I didn't have staff available to assist me. How inconvenient!
